As always, every item listed below is from a small business.
Good morning! Before we get into today’s gift guide, I wanted to mention that for the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sending two newsletters per week instead of just my usual Sunday post. I’ll go back to my weekly schedule in mid-December, but in the meantime I want to share as many small shops with you as I can leading up to the holidays.
I love a consumable gift so today we’re covering food and (one) bev. If there’s anything in particular you’re looking to gift this holiday season, DM me and I will find a small business that sells it.
Peepal People Turmeric Habanero Hot Sauce
This hot sauce is so good. I put it on eggs and use it as a dipping sauce for samosas too. Looks like they’re running a 25% off sale right now.
Steel City Salt Co. Spices
They have everything here. Last time I was at their store, they gave me a free sample of this Peruvian Inca spice blend, and it was great for seasoning chicken. I use their smoked paprika a lot if you can’t tell by the worn in label.
Bedillion Honey Farm Infused Honeys
I know you can get hot honey at any grocery store nowadays, but this is the best I’ve had by far. I also highly recommend using their lavender infused honey in your matcha. (If you’re local to Pittsburgh, you can find their products at the Phipps Conservatory gift shop or the Audubon Society store at Beechwood.)
De Fer Pink Bourbon Cinnamon Coffee
This might be the best coffee I’ve ever had? I went to Trace Brewing’s Pour Over Fest last month and this was one of the featured coffees there. It’s fermented with cinnamon and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. I’m obsessed!
Pittsburgh Pickle Company Brimstone Pickles
These pickles are incredible. The smokiness balances out the heat so even if your spice tolerance is low, I still think you’d enjoy.
Thanks for being here 🎣
