Welcome to Small World, a series where I share all of the things that piqued my interest this month.
Good morning! Today’s Small World was supposed to go live in February, but life had other plans, so I’m posting it now instead. Enjoy <3
My Monthly R.E.P.O.R.T
You may or may not be familiar with the Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T trend that started on TikTok. Basically, each letter in the word “report” represents a different part of your week: reading, eating, playing, obsessing, recommending and treating. I think it’s a nice way to keep a little visual journal, so I’m sharing one here this month:
Reading:
On Tyranny by Timothy SnyderIf you’re also worried about, well, everything, you can buy this book here. And if you’re new to Thriftbooks, you can use my code for a discount.
Eating:
Stanley Tucci’s pasta fagioli recipe, which I’ve made three times this month.Playing:
A-Punk on my newly charged 4th gen iPod Nano*
*right after I took this photo, I realized the battery was “spicy” aka it turned into a tiny explosive, which I then had to put into a metal coffee tin outside covered with sand until the e-waste center near my house opened the next day <3
Obsessing:
Over digital gardens – I came across this essay on the history of digital/internet gardening via Talyssa and it’s such an interesting concept. I’m excited to keep learning about them and eventually create my own.Recommending:
I’m attempting The Rule of Five this year, and I think you should too. It’s simple – you can only buy five new things for your wardrobe this year. You can read more about it here if you’re interested in giving it a try:Treating:
Myself to another sewing class at Workshop DIY School. I learned how to make a patchwork pillowcase, and now all I want to do is make wall hangings and curtains like this.
You can find me on Instagram and Bluesky.
If you’re enjoying Small Fry, you now have the option to leave me a tip.
